Can anyone explain this?

Hey...I am usually not a sucker for "snake oil" gimmicks, but in searching for added power for my E63...I came across this........

Background Info:

Every vehicles / motorcycles have an Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This unit electronically manages and monitors your vehicle’s performance. The ECU is made to meet government regulations. In other words, your engine could perform much better and could be getting more power if the ECU is replaced. This replacement could easily cost drivers over $1500. The PE module will make the same adjustment without the high cost of replacing the complete ECU. The PE module simply wires into the factory harness of the IAT sensor. The module will work with the sensor to provide a new signal to your vehicles computer, or ECU. The ECU then adjusts your air/fuel and timing advance curves to new performance settings. Is this a generic module that will fit any vehicle?

No it is not. Each module is programmed to fit the vehicle in the title only. Even though all of our module looks the same we distinguish which application by the part number on the module.

these are typically just resistors that trick the ecu into thinking the temps from the iat sensor are cooler than they actually are, causing the ecu to dump more fuel. it's basically like running the car in warm up mode or with a choke on.

their fancy explanation sounds great but it's a gimmick.
