WAIT! We have to wait so long for the car? I don't think so, it should be out sooner than that. I could kill to get this car right now, but that's impossible. I am thinking the time frame of July-October, but not next yr. It should be 1 month later than the slk 350s. Since it's all spec'd out, and pics are out it should be REAL quick!

Glad to see the body styling for the AMG version of the SLK is a bit more aggresive than on the SL and E. Could do without those weird vertical slats on the sides of the front bumper though. Wonder if one could just order the nicely done side skirts to add to the SLK350? Rear spoiler looks sharp too. Not a fan of the turbine fan style AMG wheels though and assume AMG will be offering alternatives as they do on the SL.
For comparison take a look at the SLK Sports Package linked below (scroll down to last photo just before the SLKAMG Update) which does incorporate the AMG side skirts and bumper treatment sans the ugly vertical slats. Wheels look better on the Sports Pacage IMHO too. Does not look like the Sports Package gets the same rear end treatment with spoiler and exhausts though.

Oh man does that look good! I remember seeing the spy pics and thinking that the SLK was going to be a disaster, especially the rear end. Turns out the rear is the best part of the whole car. Looks very aggressive, especially with the quad exhaust. can't wait till it gets here.

Has anyone seen a rear view of the non AMG SLK? Agree that the rear on the AMGSLK is nice. Hope the SLK350's looks just as good. Would also like to see what the AMG sport package on the SL350 looks like from the rear view as well.

I am surprised by how many people have not seen pictures of the SLK 55 AMG. The big pictures above about a year old, so I am saying is that I saw those pictures on about a little less than 30 website around January of 2004.

Hard call now
My lady drives the 98 SLK. We are getting a new one in the spring. Now, do I want her to get the 55 or the 350? Her foot IS heavy. Tough call. At least until I get the redesigned SL600 in 2006 (or 7).
