The image below is of the left interior side of the trunk of my 1991 300SL. When the soft top is operated there is a BAD leak were the arrow is pointing. How is this repaired?

If you are asking the question I would go to a dealer as you are not familiar with hydralics. Re the part #, any dealer would have it.

Bleeding hydraulics....
Anything is easy if you know how. There should be a bleeding valve somewhere. It usually looks like a small metal nipple with a hole in it and a nut for a wrench at its base. After filling the system with hydraulic fluid you attach one end of a plastic/rubber tube to the nipple and put the other end in a jar with some fluid in it. 1. Open the valve by loosening the nut some...not too much or the fluid will leak out around the nut as well as go out the tube. 2. Compress the piston in the cylinder all the way. 3. Close the valve. 4. Return the piston 5. Repeat until no bubbles come out of tube, only fluid. You need to keep adding fluid to the hydraulic resevoir as you pump it out the tube. The object is to have no air trapped in the system, only fluid.
This is a generic process, I don't know if there is anything special or different that needs to be done, or how many bleed points are in your car or where/if there is a resevoir, or if you even need to bleed it.

Hey 94e420, why not sign up at alldata.com for your model and year car, and follow all the instructions available to do this procedure. It will only cost you about $16.00 for one year, and should answer all your questions with written instructions and diagrams.

Randy,
Thanks for the info I will look into it. I'm sorta leaning towards letting the local MB dealer do it. I was talking with a guy here in the local MBCA chapter and heard of some horror stories.
Thanks and have a great week!
