Shift knob install? How easy... 2000 S430
I am contemplating buying a burl wood shifter for my S-Class. Does this thing screw off? or snap on?
How hard is it to make this modification.

it's easy. if you check for shift knob you'll see a silver piece on the shift ***. turn that silver piece counter-clockwise, it's like a ring. once that's done. just pull the shift up and the shift knob should be off. don't twist the whole shift knob as that will cause the shift to be loose.
