NEW PICS- H&R Bilstein Sport lowered
H&R bilstein sport is the perfect combo. Not too harsh. I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. Its just perfect. I guess its all relative. I have a Porsche 911 and a BMW M3...so this still feels softer to me.
The whole HD versus Sport debate....well I went with Sport. After visiting the german Bilstein website and reading about how the Sport shocks are a must for a 30-40mm shortened ride height...it was a no brainer to me. I'm sure HD works fine but I'm delighted with the sport shock.
Increased camber...so what. Perfectly normal for a german lowered car. I'll watch my tires for uneven wear and replace when necessary. A small premium for the vastly improved handling.
Springs pads?? Who the hell cares. I left mine as is from the factory. Didn't even bother with them. No swapping. No headaches. Perfect drop in my eyes. The way H&R intended it to be.
Oh, and no rubbing whatsoever on my AMG staggered rims....even with 2 people seated in the rear.
Dont' believe the hype. Just do it.

looking good! is it just me but looks like that your back i a bit lower than front?
Those look like 17s.
Other day i was changing oil on my car and while wondering under the car i inspected how many bumps my pads have. Wow guess what? Front drivers side has 4 bumps pad and passenger side has 2. I believe this is factory, does this make any sense? Why would they do that, unless e220 is heavier on one side

It does however have alot to do with options...take my wagon for instance, my spare is on the LEFT wheel well - that in itself, plus driver could have a bit of influence on stance.

I honestly don't know....I bought this car new in 1994 and it has whatever came from the factory....I never changed them out. The car now has 80k miles on it and the rear bilstein comforts finally started to leak....amazing.

Just some more feedback on the lowered car. I'm very happy with this combo. Drove to LA and back this weekend...it was fantastic (when I wasnt stuck in traffic of course.) Feels much more secure at high speed. It still has quite a bit of compliance. I'm very impressed. I've not had any rubbing. My E36 M3 with H and R springs and Bilstein sports is much much stiffer. Obviously these guys engineer according to the original ride characteristics of the car. I think these germans know what they are doing
