08 GL450
GL 450 is officially stated at 7.4 secs 0-60 but has magazine tested as low as mid 6s.
ML 550 is listed by MBZ as 5.6 secs ( but weighs 640 lbs less than the GL 550)

I predict around 5.3s for ML 550 and 5.9s for the GL 550 in upcoming magazine comparos.

GL450 (Alabaster White/Black Interior)
Mercedes claims:

GL450
0-62mph in 7.2 sec
Vmax 146mph

GL500
0-62mph in 6.5 sec
Vmax 150mph

This is a copy of a post from Benzworld a while back posted by someone who has the GL500. If the GL450 really does zero to sixty in 6.5 seconds then the GL550's 0-60 time should be at least 6.0 seconds or better.

What mathemathical equation did you use to get that number... I need exactness.. Maybe will get 5.0 0-60mph in GL550 with a NOS kit!!! Anyone willing to give up their new GL550 to MTV's "Pimp My Ride".

I bow to stumblefoot who has become obsessed with this specialty previously served at a local casino to NevadaJack on many occasions. Cabbage Soup has become a legend on this forum as part of a prize package for guessing the MSRP of the GL550 prior to introduction. But to all our dismay it is no longer on the menu. Sad story for us all...such expectations dashed by a chef who has no idea of what he has wrought upon us.

That looks pretty good! The local version was more of a tomato base with a lot of carrots and onions and spicy add ins and no sausage or beans.

As I sit here laughing my head off, I am still soooooo disappointed that I will not be able to have the infamous cabbage soup during the Vegas meet/greet.

Poor Dodson... he's got to think that we really are nuts.

Waiting-4-550... you've never had broccoli in Vegas? You have no idea what you are missing.

How can you laugh at such a delicacy? I am sitting here drooling. Think it was the piece of sausage that did the trick for me.

Wonder if 550 will do better 0 - 60 time if fed Cabbage soup instead of Premium 91.

Broccoli in Las Vegas is so common it should be called the vegetable of the minute. I have seen it served in omelets for breakfast, as garnish at lunch and steamed, sautéed, boiled, deep fried, and creamed at dinner. I guess it is the low bid leader in the chefs market basket...:-)

Probably would if driver emissions were routed to the intake for an occasional "boost".
