Designo help - 2000

I have a 99 E320 and considering swapping out my std leather seats for one
from 00 E55 with Designo seats. Reason is my back needs more support
during long drives. Would like to know what adjustments are part of this
seat package.

My current front seat is controlled by door pad and includes headrest (up/down),
seat back (recline), seat bottom (up/down, fore/aft, tilt)...heat.

Does the Designo, which I understand has pneumatic bolstering, come with
any other seat adjustments?

Trying to ascertain the degree of difficulty with retrofit. tnx!

....okay, i'm Googling more and Designo appears to be super leather color
options, not seat function. so for 00 E55 owners, what seat functions do
you have beyond what i have listed for my 99 E320? tnx

06 E55, 03FORD P/S,01 E320-4M,99 ML320,O4 E55,05 RUBICON UNLIMITED,
What You Would Need Is All The (4) Seat Bladders For Lt And Right Seats, Air Controllers, On The Inboard Side Of The Seats, Vacuum Line To Run From The Controllers To The Bladders And From The Seats To The Pse Pump Under The Rear Seat. You Will Also Need A Seperate Vacuum Resevoir That Mounts Next To The Pse And You Will Have To Code The Pse For Lumbar Seats. The Easiest Way To Do All Of This Is To Find A Parts Car, Some Aftermarket Companies Sell Electric Or Hand Pump Lumbar Support, The Question Is Do You Want It Factory Looking Or Not. I've Got A Wrecked E55 That I'm Going To Part Out, Black Int, If You're Interested Drop Me A Line And We'll Talk.

209/W210 Estate /W211 modded by MBENZNL
I Installed a Set of FULL Option seats in my W210 Heated/Ventilated And Multicontour....

One can version code the PSE to work the Multicontour option...With the SDS..I Did and It worked....also the Late replacement PSE is capped for the optional multicontour..

http://groups.msn.com/mbenznl/instal...o&PhotoID=2194

Check to see (IF) the seats have Heat and or Ventilation options
if so You will need a replacement center wood to house the seat switch assy
and the switch for the seats...then a wire harness

wow...thanks, you guys , for the info!! so sounds as though i'm really on
the right track here. i'm excited because my back, on a bad day, can only
handle 20 mile drive....whereas had i been driving my brother's 00 E320,
i can go quite a bit more.

i actually have tentative commitment from seller who has Designo from E55
which matches my interior, bags, door trims. i would need to try and track
down pump, wiring and air line and I'll be sitting pretty.

if i have any further questions, i'll know who to contact. Love the link/photos,
Mark, tnx!

p.s. Mark - do you have the AMG steering wheel? what is the OD of the
rim? my stock wheel is 15.5" and it makes it turn slow. was hoping to find
a plug and play steering wheel in the 14" range.

I'm interested in the E55 parts you are selling. Are they still for sale?

Nice!

Good luck with the install, these parts are kinda expensive to replace when buying through the dealer, so hopefully you kind find parts from a wrecked AMG. Please Please post pics of your progress!

Designo Seats for 99 E320

Hi Raymond, any luck with the designo seats? I'm looking for a set of designo seats for my 99 e320 as well, but no luck at the moment. Have you found any sites that can order the seats?

they're crated in Houston and awaiting shipment. with the soaring price of
gas, the trick is to find someone who isn't going to rape me on shipping.
i've already paid for the seats so not worrying. seller's reputation is solid.
sometimes I just need to be patient...a bit more...again. install date
appears to be mid/late June.

i dont know of a place where these can be ordered. it's serendipity and in
which you're at the right place/time when they become available off a salvage
etc. i know where there is matching fronts from w211 E55 in charcoal but
since your's is w210, it won't PnP as easily.

couple of other members have asked about w210 E55 seats. don't know. i
just know i scored big time in locating these...and which matched my interior.
so I'll just kill time by surfing MBworld for another month and increasing my
post count until they arrive.

p.s. you can continue to browse Ebay seller potomac_german_auto or
pester them with periodic phone calls

p.s. what happened to the E55 being parted out above? no luck there?

Wow, that looks GREAT! Although IMO, you need to ditch the burlwood as it clashes with the bordeaux and go with either the black birdseye maple or straight up CF baby!!! Good job ray!

yeah....i did note this while sitting in the car and was going to add to my to-do
list....rethink wood trim. I didn't know what was available....except the antho
trim pieces that Sunil took back. Sunil...want to trade? I'd still have to look
for console match pieces though.

as i always say: 2tone>all

great job man, matches your car really nice.
i actually like the burlwood, more class than some aluminum trim that's for sure

how about colormatching the side reflector? ;p you know you want to do it

actually, a set just received on FRI. this is second set I purchased. first set is
someplace hidden in the house and i cant find it. it'll surface one day. i just got
tired of looking for it (after 6 mos) and bought another pair. (one time, I tossed
out 24k gold chain with jade pendant on during cleaning binge....another time,
Zeiss binocs.......who knows)

Dibs on any burlwood or even door panels you might want to let go

Car looks great, lots of improvements. Sick interior. Looks like you're in it to win it, so knowing that, consider a not too flashy body kit and drop it a hair more....
