my 351rwhp baseline dyno with only dusty filters!!

J/K....lol

been on this board for a long time and this is only the first time i dynoed my car. my mods are filters, sl55 splitter, evo odps, exhaust (probably doesn't do crap), and of course the CUSTOM ECU by my ECU guy. SWEET! this is only the first tune (about an hr on the dyno lol) didn't have time to tune it more, will do more tuning when i get more mods. this is making me considering some more stuff to do. lol we'll see. I'm very happy right now.

PM me if you wanna know more about the tuner. lol

best run 351rwhp 353lbft-tq

Great numbers Frank!!

Something about the graph does not seem right. It appears as if the power is all over the place.

Did they have problems with the car shifting? Did they put a blower on the front to simulate air flow and to assist with cooling?

I have done many pulls on a Dynapak and none of mine bounced around. I think the power is accurate, but something is off.

Here is my last Dyno for your comparison.

Translates to nearly ~430HP to the crank on mild mods & tuning . Maybe a bit more fine tuning in the high-end to nip away at this:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/176669-c32t-447bhp.html

then get cams and blow everyone else out the water.

On FrankW's C32 - his last two runs, which were probably his most accurate of the 7 or 8, his peak torque come nearly 1000rpm (okay maybe 5-600 lol) sooner than on your graph. I know - I've felt the grunt!

Would you like a cookie for being able to read a graph? I prefer to have more trq in the low end and have it ease into its peak. It seems like he has no power until a certain RPM is reached and then it hits like NOS. I bet it is fun to drive though!!

I'm glad he is able to make that amount of power, but something is wrong. I'm guessing that it might have been shifting issues or it was the tech.

If he does do more mods, he will certainly blow me away!

Mrs. Fields . Anyway, yes, the lower end of that spectrum had some shifting spikes. You have to look at the last 3 (pink, blue, and yellow) runs for probably the most accuracy - then again, his car was seriously dyno'd 7 or 8 times but STILL quite a consistent car. I stood behind the fans.

By chance do you have a copy of your A:F readings? It became apparent to me that C32 injectors can be tuned a LOT easier than a C230Ks yesterday - more "give and take" available you can say.

Great numbers for a 1st tune. Can't wait to see how it is after everything is refined and Frank forks up money for new bolt-ons! Your car is gonna go from being a monstor to a freakin' alien, Frank!

Well, I guess I'll have to settle for my car being a sleeper . But seeing your numbers just confirms what I already knew - my car is in great hands!

Sure thing boss...

I'm glad that he used the Dynapak, it is a very reliable Dyno. What do you think could be causing the spikes? Did the car shift during runs? Did he dyno it in 3rd?

Also, do you know exactly what they changed and what the changed items were set to? IE - A/F set to x, Timing set to x, etc.

Yep, did the dyno in 3rd. Probably the tech just feeling out the car, but you can't "feel out the car" 7 or 8 times and still get consistent numbers - so Frank's car boogies, period... the built Honda guys next to us were like ///AMG.

If you just massaged those A/F ratios down a bit, get it between the 12.0-12.5 ratio for the meat of the powerband, it should probably help - they should have seen that since your first dyno run. See how Franks car just immediately dips into the 12s once the car WANTS it? Amazing, but still a bit more work to do up top (leaning it out) and maybe we'll see a peak drop off even later (with more power). Did he say he still gets 18mpg city, 21-22fwy?

Now that is proprietary information and what road/dyno tuning is all about.

OK, I talk to Renntech about it. They told me once before that the A/F should be between 12.5 - 13 from 4 grand on, but I'll be sure to ask.

I'm getting the same MPG too...sweet!

Normally on a forced induction car, the magic number for margin is A/F R~12.5,
a higher ratio than this, when under high boost and the chances of detonation are greater. Lower ratios are safer, cooler, but leave power on the table.

The real power, once the AFR is correct, hopefully flat under boost at 12.5 or just under, is in the timing advance. This is trickier on a positive displacement blower, than on a turbo, because of higher boost at low RPM.

agreed, when tuning a FI car, i like to stay in the 12.0 range, just to be on the safe side...i really wish that i had the capability to tune this car, it is driving me crazy not being able to do this myself...

I really want a before/after dyno of JUST the camshafts on a stage 2 car . . .

thanks everyone for the feedbacks.

I'll have to say the spikes are probably caused by the dyno guy's working out how to use the auto, but the numbers are definitely accurate especially throught the last 3-4 runs which sees 348-351rwhp consistantly.

as far as the torque curve I'm loving the flat torque curve usable for all it's power all the way to redline.

I'll start sending some PM to who requested.
