2003 AMG Challenge!
The 2003 AMG Challenge schedule is out. Cost is still $850 but they are advertising:
"And yes, you'll have the opportunity to experience the fastest production Mercedes-Benz sedan - the E55 AMG."
The email I received also said:
"a chance to drive a variety of AMG vehicles including the high-performance SL55 and the fastest Mercedes-Benz production car of all time - the new E55."
www.mbevents.com/welcome.asp
No DC Area Event this year.

sounds like fun...
do you have to have bought an AMG car to receive an invitation to this event?
I don't think we received anything about it.

Not just AMG owners...
I got an invite for this, and I (unfortunately) am not an AMG past or present owner, so that was not the criteria for an invitation...
I don't know how I got it... I did express interest in an E55 at my dealer... maybe he put me on a list... but I have not ordered one yet (I do have an E500 on order...)
I've registered with the MBUSA web-site... maybe that's another way to have gotten the invite...

I went the the AMG Challenge last year at Road Atlanta. It was a great experience. They brought all AMG models. We drove all but the ML55, SL55, and G55 around the track. I recommend the challenge to anyone who enjoys AMG. Last year everyone who attended agreed that the C23 was the best "track car". Now that I am on the list for an '04 E55, I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one on the track at Daytona. Anyone else going?

The guest event code is in #3.

No children or pets will be allowed at the event. In addition, there will be no accommodations for friends or spouses to watch. However, you may invite one participating guest for an additional fee of $850.00. You both must be at least 21 years old and each have a valid driver's license to participate. For further details, please call toll-free 1-877-295-7115.

I'm signed up
I cannot wait. I enrolled within seconds of reading the email. I dreamed about taking a new E55 to 155 and then waiting for the engine to cut off the acceleration while my foot is planted. The only thing that would make it any better (aside from being free) would be to crank up some Rastaman tunes in the background. Curious to see what other MBWorld members will show at Daytona. That gives me an idea for a new thread.
