Mom got a new car...

She got a 2006 BMW 750Li. Dark blue with than interior. She traded in her 645Ci (too small, she golfs) for it. I absolutely love it. She has had a 745Li before and I love all the subtle changes. They make a whole lot of difference in the end. Anyway, as a perk to buying it, they took us out in a M5 they had on the showroom. And I'll probably get banned for this but, man, that car is just sex on wheels. The sound and looks just have to be heard and seen in person to truely appreciate. Even with the 400 hp mode only available, it scoots! Haha. Anyway, I told her with this new dark color she has, I'm the only one that can wash it so it doesn't get swirls, so she made me wash it tonight! haha. Here are a few pictures...

Nice ride. The updated exterior is a whole lot better, but I still don't like the interior.

And I agree with Evil Duffman, the rims on Bimmers always look good. MB needs to take some lessons about rim designs from BMW.

The exterior is pretty nice, but the interior (dashboard/console area) still kinda needs work....

hmmmm, is the 7 series new? It looks the same to me, but I don't keep up with them. Did she consider the new S550? I like the interior rear, but the center bulge in the dash is kind of different. What is in it? Maybe nav, etc?
The new S has a funcky looking dash top, too. Guess I'll have to get used to the new style.

p.s., i have lost all respect for you since you actually liked a 400hp M5!!

a toy
I was out with a friend a couple weeks ago playing with his new 750Li. I was VERY impressed with the big Bimmer and was surprised how comfortable it was. 80mph felt like absolutely nothing, just like my living room couch. That's coming from someone who has a Lazyboy on wheels (see sig).

Really a top contender in that field.

Lightbulb Got a 750Li as well

Far slower than the E55, not as sporty or nimble (stupid column gear shift), but that Individual package (only available outside of the US) is nice. Azurite Black with Merino Champagne.

Quiet, smooth, lots of room...

wow man; that's beautiful! yours is the first of this generation of 7's that i like. i'm generally of the opinion that the car looks like a bloated, bubbly, gut-hanging-over-the-belt-and-tie-too-short-but-still-dressing-way-too-expensively vehicle for similarly bloated fat rich people. as contrasted with the previous 7's, which i always thought epitomized the BMW brand as being very slick, very fast and precise, sporty, meticulously german, yet still quite luxurious (though not overstated like the current models). it almost looks like bmw and merc swapped approaches to their top-ends in the late 90's/early 00's with mercedes' switch from big, marshmallowy s-sedans to the just-departing sleeker, sportier S, and the bimmers' change from sportiness to the current, more "living room-esque" style.

makes you wonder what the hell they're thinking!

That is a really nice looking interior! I like the subtle differences in the updated 7. Hopefully Mercedes can do something about the trunk on the new S.

yes; perhaps in 2-3 years they'll add a big chrome spear across the space between the taillights. that oughtta do it.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It's kind of interesting one's perspective changes in time. Never would I imagine myself falling for the roomy interior with nice leather and trim.

I guess I have been spoiled by the E55, I seem to be the only one complaining how the 360 hp 750Li could use more power.
