MB AMG

Engine cover badging.

What i've noticed is that all MB's before 1992 or 1993 have white lettering on the engine covers (logo and Mercedes-Benz) and and from 1994 up it was black. First noticed it on M119 and M120 engines. Anyone else? Did it have a particular reason?
