CL55 pics and initial impressions

The car is awesome, just the power upgrade the CL needed. Handling is firm and comfortable and there are gobs of torque everywhere. The seats offer excellent support and the COMAND is much better in functionality and ease of use. And, oh, that exhaust note! We've read all the articles so let's just get to some fresh pics...

And another pic... the wood in person is the color as seen on the shift knob. The sun in this pic gives a bit of a yellow tint to the left side of the console, but there is absolutely no yellow in the wood; just a rich light brown all around.

Very nice. How do you like the all leather steering wheel vs the wood/leather one you used to have ?

Interesting the way the new odometer (speedo) works. Upto 120 mph in normal steps, and then a shorter distance upto 200mph.

Must seem like it takes twice as long to get to 200mph once 120 has past!

Thank you for the kind words and best of luck to all those awaiting their CL's. It will be worth the wait. To answer the questions above:

- I do not miss the wood on the steering wheel. I loved the wood on that car (the same light wood but on oyster). However, given the contrast with charcoal on this car, light wood on the wheel might be a bit bling-bling with all of the other wood already in the car, especially if changing out the rims for MAE's.

- no, the car is not from Westwood.

Thank you,
A-Train

The Cl 55 amg is the top of the art of GT coupe. I thought that the CL 55 AMG were delivered with dark wood, Is it a designo option?

Burl is standard. A-Train opted for the optional lighter wood however.

Again, thank you for all the kind words above and for any future ones, too. I'm very glad I got the 55 over the 600. I use the steering wheel shift buttons almost all the time and the suspension, seats, and exhaust note are just right. The CL600 is too soft for me, but I certainly understand why others may prefer it.

By the way, for those interested in a CL600 Sport available at MSRP: http://forums.mbworld.org/forums/sho...threadid=25044

Thank you,
A-Train

did you used to have a CL600 sport? How would you compare it to your new 55?
